2011 Teen Challenge
Dec.2011 London Ontario
Instrument Lenders Canada is always so happy to receive testimonials like these! This is what makes our work so gratifying!
With only a few weeks training under Choir Director Jim Wilde, members of the Teen Challenge Choir learned to play ukulele and surprised their volunteer dentist with a special Hawaiian Christmas tune.
Take a look!
Dear Instrument Lenders:
I just wanted to thank you sincerely for the use of the ukuleles this December. We take a number of our Teen Challenge students to visit a dentist office every year to say thanks to him and his staff for their voluntary work and support of our ministry.
This year, among other songs, we presented the Hawaiian Christmas song, Mele Kalikimaka, and the ukuleles were a very nice touch!
I will attach a photo with this correspondence, and will send a few more, along with a short video clip in separate emails. Hope all reach you successfully!
Thanks so much for all you do for our community. You are a wonderful resource and I deeply appreciate your generosity.
With sincere thanks,
Jim Wilde

Dec.2011 Varadero Cuba
Cuban Outreach PT 2
Instrument Lenders Canada President Kevin Lucas, and Past-President Neil McPhee, have just returned from not only fantastic tropical weather, but a very successful extension of the Cuban Outreach program that the organization began last year.
On this trip, Instrument Lenders Canada presented the Los Corales Cultural Center with a beautiful acoustic guitar! This guitar will stay in the Center and be made available to anyone who wishes to play it while they visit, or perform, at Los Corales. This guitar will also be available to instructors at the Center so they may able to offer instruction to local children.
Thanks to our friends Steve and Earl at Filsingers, we were also able to leave a substantial quantity of replacement parts and strings to keep the guitar sounding great until our next visit.
It was great to see our friend Jorge Hernandez Figueredo (director of events at the Center) again. Once again Jorge was very grateful for our generosity and donation. He sent us home with a lovely card and a cd of local Cuban music. He also put a new twist on an old Cuban standard during a live personal performance for us.
Disfrutar Jorge! Ver usted el año que viene!
